As it is written, you should rather have a good name than choice sliver or gold. Having access to large amounts of liquidity doesn’t make you a good business partner. It only makes you a person with some money.

A [good] name [is] rather to be chosen than great riches, [and] loving favour rather than silver and gold.

Proverbs 22:1 (KJV)

Think about it like “ A man walks in the bank with 25k in his account with a 529 credit score trying to take out a loan and gets denied. Versus a man with 6k in his account and 740 credit score, he gets approved.” The difference is all in the name and how you carry that name. A good name in the business world introduces opportunity. Customers, business partners, investors feel more compelled to recommend your services anytime your expertise is brought about.

In order to attract new and retain existing customers, you need to dedicate resources and invest into building strong, long-term business relationships that help people see the value and achieve their goals with a product or service. Just like your personal relationships, business relationships take time to develop. It’s an investment.

When you think of RORs (Return of relationship) the more customers you help the more they are willing to return. Speaking for myself I personally feel that if were treated like true valued customer I would always continue to do business and services with that company. Even if I had to commute further to handle the business. It does not matter good business is good business.
